Mise-En-Scene is a French term for ' what is put into a scene of frame'. Visual information in front of the camera. Communicates essential information to the audience.
It is made up of 5 elements:
-Setting&Props
-Costume,Hair and Make up
-Facial expressions & Body language
-Lighting & Colour
- Positioning of characters/objects within the frame

-Settings and location play an important part
- Sets are either built from scratch or a great deal of time is spent to find a setting which already exists.
- Setting can manipulate an audience
2. Costume, Hair and Make up
-Act as an instant indicator to us of a characters personality
-It tells us immediately whether the film is set in the present or in the older times
3. Facial expressions& Body language
-Provide a clear indicator of how someone's feeling.
4. Lighting and Colour
- To highlight important characters or objects within the frame
-Can make characters look mysterious
